Red Crescent Bolsters Emergency Response on Hijrah Road for Pilgrim Dispatch
The Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) in Madinah has intensified its field operations during the peak period of pilgrim dispatch from Madinah to Makkah via the Hijrah Road. This enhanced deployment is integral to its operational plan for this year's Hajj season and its comprehensive preparations to secure the emergency route along this vital road, which experiences high traffic density during pilgrim movements.
The dispatch plan commences at Dhu al-Hulayfah Miqat Mosque, serving as the primary assembly and departure point. Emergency preparedness has been significantly elevated, with eight ambulance units in operation, including six field teams, a rapid intervention unit, and a "Tuwaiq" vehicle. A total of 44 ambulance service providers are available around the clock to ensure swift response and enhance the efficiency of handling emergencies.
Field coverage along the Hijrah Road is distributed across nine emergency departure points, comprising six fixed points operating 24/7 and three additional deployment points activated during peak times to address increasing demand. The SRCA emphasized the full readiness of its air ambulance service, which supports dispatching operations by transporting critical cases and providing intensive care when necessary. These efforts are part of the authority's commitment to the unified national plan for Hajj and its dedication to providing the highest levels of service and care to pilgrims.
