NUPCO Distributes Over 90 Million Medical Units to Support Healthcare During 1446 AH Hajj Season
The Kingdom’s health system, in coordination with the National Unified Procurement Company (NUPCO) and relevant authorities, is leveraging all available technologies and resources to ensure uninterrupted delivery of medical supplies to over 136 fixed and mobile healthcare facilities across the holy sites, enhancing service quality and timely access during the Hajj season.
This effort is supported by more than 800 logistics trips covering approximately 2,000 types of medical items, totaling around 90 million units of medicines and supplies.
To enhance field responsiveness, NUPCO, a Public Investment Fund company, has deployed a fleet of 62 transport trucks, managed by a specialized on-ground team of 184 staff members. Additionally, it has launched several initiatives to boost supply chain efficiency, including the use of drones and helicopters with designated landing pads to deliver urgent medical supplies in congested areas.
The Ministry of Health affirmed that these efforts reflect the ongoing integration across the Kingdom’s healthcare ecosystem, ensuring consistent, high-quality medical and logistical services throughout the Hajj season.
