Somalia Commends Saudi Pivotal Role in Supporting Yemen’s Security and Regional Stability

 The Federal Republic of Somalia reaffirmed its firm position in support of the sovereignty, unity, security, stability, and territorial integrity of the Republic of Yemen, and its categorical rejection of any attempts or interferences aimed at undermining Yemen’s unity or infringing upon its constitutional legitimacy and national institutions.
 In a statement issued by the Somali Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Somalia renewed its full support for the legitimate Yemeni government, stemming from its steadfast belief in the importance of peaceful political solutions led by Yemenis themselves, in a manner that safeguards state sovereignty and meets the aspirations of the brotherly Yemeni people for security, stability, and development.
 Somalia commended the pivotal and responsible role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting Yemen’s security and stability and that of the region, as well as the Kingdom’s continued political, diplomatic, and humanitarian efforts aimed at ending the Yemeni crisis, alleviating humanitarian suffering, and supporting a comprehensive peace process in accordance with regionally and internationally agreed frameworks.
 Somalia also praised the role of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen and its efforts to protect Yemeni state institutions, preserve Yemen’s sovereignty and territorial unity, and support the peace process, contributing to security and stability in Yemen and the region in line with international legitimacy and agreed reference frameworks.
 The statement further affirmed Somalia’s full solidarity with the Kingdom in its efforts to enhance regional security and stability, and reiterated its rejection of any threats that undermine the security of the Kingdom, international maritime navigation, or the stability of regional states.
 In concluding the statement, Somalia stressed that Yemen’s security and stability constitute a fundamental pillar for the security of the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Horn of Africa, calling on the international community to continue supporting efforts to reach a comprehensive and sustainable political solution that ends the conflict and restores Yemen’s security, stability, and its natural role within its Arab and regional surroundings.
