MWL Condemns Israeli Decision to Bar Humanitarian NGOs from Gaza
The Muslim World League (MWL) has condemned the decision by the Israeli occupation government to prevent dozens of humanitarian non-governmental organizations from operating in the Gaza Strip, describing these organizations as a vital lifeline for the survival of the strip’s residents.
In a statement, MWL Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa denounced the decision as a reprehensible act that constitutes a blatant violation of international and humanitarian laws and norms. He emphasized that such measures further exacerbate the already severe humanitarian crisis facing the besieged Gaza Strip.
He called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities by ensuring respect for international humanitarian law, lifting all arbitrary restrictions imposed on humanitarian operations, enabling immediate and unhindered access for humanitarian aid to reach the people of Gaza, and guaranteeing the protection of civilians and humanitarian workers in the strip.
