
IFBA: A Gathering of Falconers, Breeders in Riyadh with SAR29 Million Sales in 4 Years
The International Falcon Breeders Auction (IFBA) has been a prominent annual event in the falconry world, attracting breeding farms and falconers from both within the Kingdom and abroad. With impressive sales over the past four editions, the IFBA has showcased Saudi Arabia's commitment to preserving its cultural heritage while developing this unique field, which continuously draws in high-quality investments year after year.
Through the auction, the Saudi Falcons Club strives to attract the finest falcon breeds from around the globe, thereby reinforcing the Kingdom's status as a global hub for falconry. The auction has established itself as a reliable and secure international destination, bringing together falconers and breeders from Saudi Arabia and the world. With top-notch facilities, falcons are showcased within dedicated pavilions, complemented by a live auction that features fast-paced competition among participants from various countries. The event is broadcast across TV channels and social media platforms, providing an engaging experience that aligns with digital transformations and expands the audience reach.
During the 2024 edition, which spanned 20 days at the club's headquarters in Malham, the IFBA recorded sales exceeding SAR10 million, with 872 falcons sold. Notably, that edition, attended by 56 leading breeding farms hailing from 19 countries, witnessed the sale of the most expensive falcon from international breeding farms. The Ultra White Gyrfalcon from Pacific Northwest Falcons in the United States was sold for SAR400,000.
In 2023, the auction saw a remarkable growth of over 218% compared to the previous year, selling 642 falcons with total sales surpassing SAR8 million. That edition featured participation from 39 farms from 16 countries, including the United States, Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Austria, as well as local farms.
The IFBA underscores the club's commitment to nurturing and attracting falcon breeds while fostering a professional and developmental culture within the realm of falconry.
