SFD Signs $32 Million Loan Agreements to Support Social Infrastructure in Bosnia and Herzegovina

CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Marshad signed two development loan agreements today with Minister of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina Srđan Amidžić to support key infrastructure projects in the country.
The agreements, totaling $32 million, will finance the establishment of a science and technology park ($19 million) and the construction and outfitting of student housing at the Borisa Starović Public Institution in Foca ($13 million). The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Saudi Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Osamah Dakhel AlAhmadi. The agreements further reinforce the strong development partnership that has linked the two nations for nearly three decades.
The Science and Technology Park project aims to establish a multidisciplinary research and innovation center spanning approximately 200,000 square meters. It is designed to advance various fields, including technology, economic development, healthcare, and higher education. The facility will serve as a collaborative hub, bringing together scientists, researchers, and entrepreneurs from diverse sectors.
The student housing project aims to enhance infrastructure in the higher education sector, offering improved facilities and promoting increased university enrollment. The initiative is expected to play a significant role in fostering educational opportunities and promoting broader community development.
