Al-Namas Fog Walkway Attracts Tourists with Scenic Views and Cool Summer Air
Towering more than 2,400 meters above sea level, the Fog Walkway in Al-Namas Governorate, a prominent tourist destination in Aseer Region, continues to attract large numbers of visitors during the summer season thanks to its temperate weather and sweeping panoramic views that stretch deep into the Tihamah plains.
The walkway extends over seven kilometers as part of the governorate’s renowned tourism belt. It is known for its misty, cool summer atmosphere, where midday temperatures rarely exceed 30°C, offering an exceptional experience amid majestic mountains and dense forests.
The site features wide pedestrian paths, designated rest areas, and comprehensive service facilities, including food trucks, coffee and traditional beverage stalls, and kiosks run by productive families offering handmade crafts, local products, and traditional dishes.
It also integrates with the annual Al-Namas Summer program, hosting folk art performances, recreational and sports competitions, the third edition of the International Sculpture Symposium, and open cultural evenings, further enhancing its role as a recreational, social, and cultural hub.
In recent years, local authorities have increased their focus on developing the walkway by upgrading night lighting, expanding green spaces, and improving auxiliary services. These efforts reflect a strategic move toward sustainable tourism in the region while enabling the local community to benefit directly from tourism-driven economic activity.
