WAMY: Saudi Arabia Leads Volunteer Work in 2025

The World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) affirmed that Saudi Arabia has successfully established 2025 as the “Year of Volunteerism Par Excellence” by institutionalizing volunteer work and transforming it into a key pillar of community development. WAMY praised the qualitative outcomes and outstanding initiatives implemented across various regions of the Kingdom throughout the year.
The statement came in response to the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing's recent announcement that the number of participants in its volunteer initiatives exceeded 300,000 in 2025. These volunteers contributed to the implementation of a wide range of field activities aimed at improving the quality of life, reflecting the growing level of community awareness of the importance of volunteering and its developmental role.
WAMY noted that these achievements reflect the efforts of the Saudi leadership to entrench a culture of volunteerism, stressing that the results are a direct outcome of Saudi Vision 2030's objectives, which set a national target of reaching one million volunteers. The initiative has helped strengthen the values of giving and social responsibility as integral to the Kingdom’s national identity.
