Heritage Commission to Host Saudi International Handicrafts Week in November
Under the patronage of Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Heritage Commission Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan, the third edition of the Saudi International Handicrafts Week (Banan) will be held in Riyadh from November 13 to 26, featuring extensive international participation from more than 40 countries, alongside over 400 local craftspeople and 20 partners.
The event aims to highlight Saudi and global handicrafts in conjunction with the Year of Handicrafts 2025 and serves as an international platform to support and empower local craftsmen and women, enabling them to enhance their market presence and leverage their skills.
The People's Republic of China will be the guest of honor, showcasing distinguished craftsmanship to enhance cultural exchange and cooperation.
The minister of culture announced that Syria will participate for the first time, featuring its traditional arts and products.
Banan 2025 offers a rich experience for visitors, including interactive workshops, an area for children, dedicated pavilions for local and international products, and platforms for entrepreneurs. A spotlight will also be placed on the House of Artisans, an initiative that supports craftspeople across the Kingdom.
The event builds on the successes of its previous two editions, which saw a large turnout of over 200,000 visitors. Sales exceeded SAR2.5 million in the 2024 edition alone, and international participation expanded from 12 countries in the first edition to 25 countries in the second.
Banan was honored with the Paris Design Award, the iF Design Award, and the BETTER FUTURE London Design Award 2025, reflecting the Heritage Commission's commitment to supporting the cultural sector, enhancing national identity, and achieving the economic goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
