Wadi Al-Aqiq: A Blend of Prophetic Heritage and Natural Beauty in Madinah

Wadi Al-Aqiq, known as the "blessed valley," is a prominent geographical and historical landmark in Madinah, celebrated for its religious significance and connection to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

 Extending from Mount Ayr through Dhu Al-Hulayfah, the valley was historically renowned for its sweet water and lush greenery, attracting the Prophet's companions and their successors, who built palaces along its banks, including that of Urwah ibn Al-Zubair, which still stands today.

 Currently, the Madinah Region Development Authority is supervising a 15-kilometer rehabilitation project to balance urban development with natural preservation, improving the landscape from the Miqat of Dhu Al-Hulayfah to the Al-Jurf area. A key feature of this development is a 1,500-meter hiking trail designed to harmonize with the environment, offering seating, shaded walkways, and views of ancient ruins and inscriptions, making it a premier destination for religious and nature tourism.
