Islamic Affairs Ministry Implements Custodian of Two Holy Mosques’ Date Distribution and Iftar Programs in Ethiopia
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by the Religious Attaché at the Saudi Embassy in Ethiopia, held an official ceremony yesterday to mark the implementation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ gift programs for distributing dates and providing Iftar meals in Ethiopia. The ceremony was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Ethiopia Abdullah bin Hassan Al-Zahrani.
The event featured a visual presentation highlighting the ministry’s efforts in implementing the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ programs in various countries worldwide.
A total of 20 tons of dates have been allocated for distribution, benefiting approximately 80,000 individuals, while the Iftar program is set to benefit around 30,000 people.
In his address, Al-Zahrani stated that the implementation of the date distribution and Iftar programs comes in line with the directives of the Kingdom’s leadership and is overseen and executed by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance. He noted that the two initiatives represent gifts from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Muslims on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan and are being carried out for the 10th consecutive year.
He added that the project aims to extend support to Muslims during the holy month, meet their needs, and foster an atmosphere of brotherhood, reinforcing unity and solidarity among Muslims.
The ambassador expressed his appreciation to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, commending the ministry’s efforts in implementing the programs.
