Waqaa Center Continues Field Operations in Makkah, Madinah, Holy Sites

The National Center for the Prevention and Control of Plant Pests and Animal Diseases (Waqaa) continued its field operations in Makkah and Madinah regions, as well as the holy sites, to ensure the safety of pilgrims during this year's Hajj season.

 Its efforts, carried out by a team of 220 personnel, have resulted in the issuance of over 318,906 health clearances for livestock and the completion of more than 1,592 inspection rounds at livestock markets and slaughterhouses.

 Waqaa Chief Executive Eng. Ayman bin Saad Al-Ghamdi stated that his field teams, numbering over 122 and operating around the clock in the Makkah and Madinah regions, have inspected more than 946,062 heads of livestock and conducted 2,568 surveillance rounds to combat disease vectors. Furthermore, they have surveyed over 114,930 hectares for desert locusts and black grasshoppers.
