5.7 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes off New Zealand's East Coast

A 5.7-magnitude earthquake struck off the east coast of New Zealand's North Island.

 New Zealand media reported today that the earthquake was centered 10 kilometers southwest of the Te Araroa Trail on the east coast, and occurred at a depth of 39 kilometers.

 There were no reports of casualties or damage from the earthquake, which was felt by several thousand residents.
