Eight Dead and 13 Injured in Heavy Rains in Kerala, India

 Eight people were killed and 13 others injured after torrential rains battered the southern Indian state of Kerala, triggering landslides, flooding, and widespread damage.

 Officials said that eight people had lost their lives, a similar number remained missing, and 13 others were injured as severe weather caused extensive property damage across the state.

 They added that 5,792 people had been evacuated to 209 relief camps established throughout Kerala after the heavy rains damaged their homes.
