Saudi Arabia Strengthens Global Biotech Presence at 2026 BIO International Convention
A Saudi delegation led by Vice Minister of Health for Planning and Development Eng. Abdulaziz Al-Rumaih concluded its participation in the 2026 BIO International Convention in San Diego, US, achieving several key outcomes, including the signing of strategic agreements and partnerships with leading international organizations to support the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program under Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Biotechnology Strategy.
The participation featured the unveiling of the “Launch in Saudi” initiative to accelerate access to health innovations and advanced therapies in the Kingdom, alongside the signing of several partnerships and agreements between Saudi companies and leading international firms in the pharmaceutical innovation and biotechnology sectors.
The Ministry of Health also organized a roundtable on enhancing investment in clinical trials in the Kingdom, attended by 40 leaders from global companies and international contract research organizations. The Saudi delegation held more than 30 strategic meetings and visited leading international companies and centers specializing in precision medicine, digital health, and pharmaceutical innovation, aiming to transfer knowledge and explore investment and cooperation opportunities.
Saudi Arabia will host the BIO Middle East Conference from December 14 to 16, reflecting the Kingdom's growing position as a regional hub for health innovation, research, and development.
The BIO International Convention is the world's largest biotechnology gathering, attracting more than 20,000 participants from over 70 countries each year.
