Royal Institute of Traditional Arts Participates in Saudi Cultural Week in Albania

The Royal Institute of Traditional Arts (Wrth), in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, is participating in the activities of the Saudi Cultural Week, hosted by the Albanian capital Tirana from September 16 to 20, with the aim of enhancing cultural and artistic exchange between Saudi Arabia and Albania through interactive experiences that celebrate the commonalities between the traditional arts of the two countries.

Wrth’s participation includes four main stations: the sound identity experience, which blends Saudi and Albanian musical rhythms; the interactive weaving panel (Sadu), which combines Saudi Sadu motifs and Albanian carpets in a collective work titled “Shared Memory”; and the Wrth store, which displays innovative artistic products from the works of its students and entrepreneurs.

This participation comes in conjunction with the announcement of naming 2025 as the Year of Handicrafts, and within the framework of supporting and empowering artisans and students, as Wrth seeks through it to highlight the richness of Saudi traditional arts, enhance the global presence of national culture, and contribute to achieving the objectives of the National Culture Strategy within the Saudi Vision 2030.
