Film Commission Participates in 11th Saudi Film Festival to Promote National Film Industry
The Film Commission has participated in the 11th edition of the Saudi Film Festival, which runs from April 17 to 23, as part of its pivotal role in empowering the film industry in the Kingdom. The festival is organized by the Cinema Association in partnership with the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), supported by the Film Commission.
The Film Commission is participating with a pavilion at the Production Market, introducing visitors to its initiatives and programs. A delegation from the commission is also participating in several events, especially a panel discussion titled: “Film Funding Commissions,” as well as specialized workshops that contribute to the development of local filmmakers’ skills.
This year's feature and short narrative film competitions feature a group of films supported by the commission, as part of its support programs, including the Cash Rebate Incentive Program and the Daw’ Film, which encourages the filmmaking sector in the Kingdom. This participation underlines the commission’s strategic commitment to promoting local content, empowering national talent, and bringing Saudi films to international platforms.
Through its participation in the festival, the commission seeks to enhance its role in developing the film industry, promote its initiatives, and empower Saudi filmmakers to access screening platforms that boost their local and global presence.
Since its inception in 2008 at the initiative of the Saudi Arabian Society for Culture and Arts in Dammam, the Saudi Film Festival is a premier local film festival aimed at stimulating the film industry. The festival enhances cultural activity, spotlights local talent and celebrates outstanding Saudi cinematic productions.
