Saudi Athletics Grand Prix 2026 to Launch with Participation from 40 Countries

The Saudi Athletics Federation announced full readiness to host the Saudi Athletics Grand Prix 2026, scheduled for May 15–16 at the track and field stadium of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in Riyadh.
The event marks the first time the Kingdom hosts an international competition of its kind as part of the series of competitions approved by World Athletics.
The final list of participants has been issued, featuring more than 200 international male and female athletes representing 40 countries across five continents. This reflects the Kingdom’s growing stature on the global sports map and strong interest in the competition, with registration requests exceeding initial expectations.
Organizing committees continue to finalize technical, organizational, and media preparations to ensure the event is held according to the highest international standards.
A press conference will be held next Thursday, attended by championship officials and several participating athletes, to discuss the leading competitors as well as the technical and logistical aspects of the event.
The championship will receive extensive local and international media coverage, with competitions broadcast live on the Saudi Athletics Federation YouTube channel, allowing audiences inside and outside the Kingdom to follow the event.
