Enhanced Tahallul Services Launched for Umrah Performers During Ramadan
The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has launched a hair cutting service for Tahallul, the act of exiting the state of Ihram after completing the Umrah rituals.
Twelve mobile units will serve approximately 360,000 beneficiaries throughout the season, offering free services to men and women at designated locations near the Marwah Gate and the eastern courtyard. This system facilitates rituals safely and efficiently.
The Tahallul service provides quick barbering options in accordance with health protocols, with continuous sterilization of tools and service areas to maintain high safety standards. Average waiting times are around four minutes, and service completion takes no more than two minutes.
The service operates eight mobile units year-round, six for men and two for women, and increases to 12 during Ramadan, including 10 units for men and two for women. To date, it has served over two million beneficiaries, averaging 210,000 per month.
These initiatives reflect the authority’s commitment to enhancing service quality and enriching the spiritual experience of pilgrims, particularly during Ramadan.
