IMCTC, UN Conclude Specialized Program to Train Legal Professionals from Palestine, Chad in Combating Terrorism Financing

The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), in cooperation with the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Centre (UNCCT), today concluded at IMCTC headquarters in Riyadh the Legal Training Program on Countering Terrorism Financing under the "Guide" Initiative. Held from July 19 to 23, the program included 25 trainees from the State of Palestine and the Republic of Chad. The closing ceremony was attended by IMCTC Secretary-General Major General Mohammed Al-Moghedi, representatives of member states, and a number of UN officials and international experts.

 The conclusion of the program builds on the strategic partnership between IMCTC and the UN in capacity building. It reflects the two sides' commitment to supporting member states and enhancing their legal and institutional readiness to combat terrorism financing crimes in accordance with relevant international standards and obligations.

 In his remarks during the closing ceremony, Al-Moghedi stressed that investing in specialized national expertise is one of the most important pillars of success in combating terrorism and cutting off its sources of financing. He noted that developing legal capabilities, strengthening integration among relevant authorities, and expanding international cooperation are essential elements for building national systems better equipped to address evolving security challenges.

 The conclusion of the program reaffirms IMCTC's continued efforts to consolidate its role as a leading international platform for capacity building and unifying efforts, while strengthening partnerships with the UN and international institutions. These efforts contribute to developing the legal and institutional frameworks of member states, enhancing their readiness to combat terrorism financing crimes, and promoting security and stability at the regional and international levels.
