HRH the Crown Prince Chairs Cabinet Session
His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the Cabinet session held today in Riyadh.
At the outset of the session, HRH the Crown Prince briefed the Cabinet on the phone call he held with President Donald J. Trump of the United States of America and on his meeting with Prime Minister of the Italian Republic Giorgia Meloni, addressing the prospects for relations between the Kingdom and both countries across various fields, as well as regional and international developments.
The Cabinet expressed its hope that the establishment of the Saudi-Italian Strategic Partnership Council will enhance bilateral communication and cooperation at all levels, ultimately achieving common interests and benefits.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the session, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary said that the Cabinet reviewed the outcomes of the foreign minister's visits to the Lebanese Republic and the Syrian Arab Republic, during which he reaffirmed the Kingdom’s support for both countries and their peoples, as well as backing efforts to restore their natural status within their Arab and international communities.
The Cabinet commended the participation of the Kingdom's delegation in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, which highlighted the ongoing advancements in fulfilling the objectives of the Kingdom Vision 2030, as well as the initiatives and contributions that are reshaping the global economic landscape, fostering transformational innovation, and unleashing human potential.
The Cabinet deemed the announcement that the Kingdom will host the World Economic Forum’s global meeting on a regular basis as an affirmation of its leadership as a global center for international dialogue, highlighting its role in shaping the global development agenda and enhancing multilateral action to achieve prosperity for all.
The cabinet tackled other items on its agenda and issued several decisions, among which the following:
First:
Approving a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the energy sector between the governments of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of the Philippines.
Second:
Authorizing the chairman of the board of directors of King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives, or a deputy, to sign a draft cooperation memorandum with the Federal Archival Agency of the Russian Federation.
Third:
Approving a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of sports between the Ministry of Sport of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the General Sports Authority of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Fourth:
Authorizing the minister of interior, or a deputy, to discuss and sign a draft cooperation agreement on the use and exchange of driver’s licenses between the governments of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the People's Republic of China.
Fifth:
Authorizing the minister of foreign affairs, or a deputy, to discuss and sign a draft general agreement for cooperation between the governments of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of North Macedonia.
Sixth:
Approving a memorandum of understanding in the field of cybersecurity between the governments of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Djibouti.
Seventh:
Approving a memorandum of cooperation in the field of small and medium enterprises between the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha'at) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Industries and Production's Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
Eighth:
Approving a memorandum of cooperation in the field of intellectual property between the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property and the Republic of Indonesia Ministry of Law and Human Rights' Directorate General of Intellectual Property.
Ninth:
Approving a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of the Arabic language between the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
