HRC President: Saudi Arabia Views Combating Human Trafficking as Principle and Humanitarian Mission for the Entire World

 President of the Human Rights Commission and Chair of the Saudi National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking Dr. Hala Al-Tuwaijri said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia views combating human trafficking as a fundamental principle and a humanitarian mission for the entire world. She noted that Saudi Arabia has strengthened its role in addressing the crime through a comprehensive legislative and institutional framework that continues to evolve in line with international best practices, enhancing protection for both society and individuals from the crime and its consequences.
 Al-Tuwaijri emphasized that, under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Saudi Arabia has adopted effective and substantive measures to combat human trafficking and prosecute perpetrators as part of the Kingdom's wide-ranging human rights reforms.
 At the international level, Al-Tuwaijri noted in a statement marking the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, observed annually on July 30, that human trafficking continues to increase amid global crises and conflicts, which create fertile conditions for trafficking networks and further complicate the global landscape.
 Saudi Arabia places great importance on combating human trafficking and keeping pace with the evolving nature of the crime worldwide by continuously strengthening its legislative and institutional framework. These efforts aim to curb the crime, protect and assist victims, pursue offenders wherever they may be, tighten restrictions on trafficking networks, and strictly enforce the law against those responsible, recognizing that human trafficking is among the gravest violations of human dignity.
