Saudi Arabia Condemns Israeli Aggression against Qatar, Calls for Serious International Action

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reiterated that Israel's actions have gone beyond isolated violations and have become a systematic policy of indiscriminate killing, suffocating blockade, deliberate starvation, and forced displacement, in blatant and ongoing defiance of international laws and norms.
The accusations came from the Kingdom's permanent representative to the United Nations and international organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Abdulmohsen bin Khothaila, before the UN Human Rights Council during the urgent debate on Israeli aggression against Qatar. He reiterated Saudi Arabia's strongest condemnation of the heinous and treacherous Israeli assault on the State of Qatar, describing it as another episode in a long series of crimes routinely committed by Israel.
The Kingdom stressed its unwavering support for Qatar and its full backing of all measures it takes in response to this blatant violation.
The statement underscored that the aggression not only targeted one nation but undermined the security of the entire region, threatening mediation efforts and diplomatic initiatives aimed at achieving a ceasefire in Gaza, securing the release of hostages, and alleviating civilian suffering.
Saudi Arabia reaffirmed that respect for the UN Charter, state sovereignty, international humanitarian law, and international human-rights law is not optional but a binding obligation. It stressed that the protection of human rights and dignity is a principle and priority, calling for serious international action to halt such reckless behavior and hold perpetrators accountable, free from double standards and selectivity.
