Al-Baha Farms Begin Summer Fruit Harvest, Farmers Expect Abundant Production

In summer, the farms of Al-Baha Region are adorned with a diverse range of seasonal fruits that reflect the region’s agricultural and environmental identity. With the arrival of the season, terraced fields and mountain slopes are covered with apricots, plums, grapes, hamat (wild figs), almonds, and apples, in a scene that highlights the area’s unique natural features that have made Al-Baha a fertile environment for long-standing agricultural activity passed down through generations.

 The Saudi Press Agency (SPA), during a field tour of the region’s farms, observed intensive agricultural activity at the start of the harvest season, as farmers continue to care for crops and monitor their ripening, benefiting from the mild climate, fertile soil, and diverse terrain—key factors behind the successful cultivation of these fruit trees.

 Grapes, apricots, pears, plums, apples, and bananas lead Al-Baha’s summer produce, while hamat remains a local fruit closely tied to the mountainous environment, alongside almond trees that form an essential part of the region’s agricultural heritage.

 Farmers noted that this season promises abundant production thanks to favorable weather and precise farming practices, stressing that agricultural terraces are key to sustaining agriculture and preserving the region’s heritage fruit trees.
