
Ministry of Defense Health Services Announces Comprehensive Medical Readiness for Hajj
The Ministry of Defense's General Directorate for Health Services has announced its readiness to implement an integrated medical plan to support the Ministry of Health in providing healthcare and treatment services to pilgrims during Hajj. This comprehensive plan encompasses the operation of 36 health centers across the holy sites, boasting a combined capacity of over 1,000 beds, ensuring that pilgrims can perform their rituals with the highest standards of health and safety.
The plan is being executed by a dedicated mission of 1,791 health and administrative personnel, strategically deployed across fixed and field hospitals, emergency centers, and specialized clinics in Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah. Key facilities include the Armed Forces Hospital in Mina, with a 50-bed capacity and 20 specialized clinics designed for expansion, and an integrated field hospital in Mina with a 50-bed capacity complete with an operating room, recovery room, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and inpatient wards for men and women. Additionally, two emergency centers in Mina are operational; the first has 11 beds and features an isolation room, cardiac resuscitation room, laboratory, pharmacy, and four medical clinics, while the second, located near the Jamarat building, offers 20 beds to receive emergency cases, sunstroke, and heat exhaustion.
In Arafat, the ministry operates two mobile field hospitals, each with a 100-bed capacity, alongside a specialized medical center for sunstroke and heat exhaustion also with a 100-bed capacity. An emergency center near Jabal al-Rahmah provides four beds, and an administrative support clinic in al-Maghmas, Arafat, has a 25-bed capacity.
In Muzdalifah, a 50-bed field hospital supports medical response operations. Notably, the Ministry of Defense's Emergency Center for Health Services in Duqm al-Waber is one of the most well-equipped facilities, offering 220 beds and including a decontamination station for handling chemical, biological, and radiological emergencies.
The plan also incorporates medical clinics within the ministry's designated camps in Mina and Arafat.
In Madinah, the Ministry of Defense's health services has equipped the seasonal medical center affiliated with the Prince Sultan Armed Forces Hospital, situated in the northwestern courtyard of the Prophet's Mosque. This center commenced operations with a staff of 250 health and technical personnel, operating 12 hours daily to provide treatment and emergency services. The center comprises 26 medical tents with an operational capacity of 16 beds, ensuring operational flexibility and rapid emergency response.
The Ministry of Defense's health services is participating with a fully integrated mission, comprising a cadre of qualified doctors, health professionals, administrators, and technicians, to ensure comprehensive care for pilgrims and immediate emergency response.
