Jeddah Gears Up to Host Formula E World Championship for the First Time

For the first time in its 11th season, the Formula E World Championship will be held in Jeddah, with the 3rd and 4th rounds scheduled for February 14 and 15. This transition marks a significant milestone as the championship moves from Diriyah—host of six successful seasons—to the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, renowned as the fastest street circuit in the world.
The 11th season began with an electrifying opener in Brazil, followed by the 2nd round in Mexico on January 11. The competition has already delivered intense rivalries, particularly between reigning drivers’ champion Pascal Wehrlein and the NEOM McLaren team, which currently leads the teams' championship standings.
Notable highlights include Taylor Barnard’s historic podium finish, becoming the youngest driver to achieve this milestone despite starting from 17th place. His teammate Sam Bird also delivered a strong fourth-place finish. Additionally, Mitch Evans of Jaguar TCS Racing secured a stunning victory in Brazil, surging from last place to claim the checkered flag.
Jeddah’s hosting of Formula E reinforces its growing reputation as a global sports destination and aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals of promoting international events and fostering global engagement. Tickets for the Jeddah race are available on WeBook and FormulaE.com.
