Rare Golden Artifact from Holy Kaaba's Gate on Display at Two Holy Mosques Exhibition

The Exhibition of the Two Holy Mosques Architecture houses rare historical artifacts documenting the care given to the Holy Kaaba across various Islamic eras. Among the most prominent is a pure gold plaque that adorned the top of the Holy Kaaba's gate more than three centuries ago.
Dating back to 1119 AH (1707 AD), the plaque consists of six interconnected pieces mounted on an iron base, engraved with Quranic verses in exquisite Arabic calligraphy.
The piece offers visitors an opportunity to explore the Holy Kaaba's architectural history and the artistic traditions that characterized work on the two holy mosques across the centuries.
The exhibition also draws on architectural models, photographs, and rare documents to chronicle Saudi Arabia's ongoing development and care of the two holy mosques.
