Advanced Air Sterilization at Grand Mosque Ensures Pure Air for Hajj Pilgrims
In preparation for Hajj season 1446 AH, the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque is utilizing advanced technical systems to continuously sterilize and purify the air within the Grand Mosque of Makkah. The comprehensive effort aims to ensure a healthy and comfortable environment for worshippers.
The process involves specialized air-conditioning units that purify the air with ultraviolet rays before it's released into the areas surrounding the mosque, achieving 100% germ purification.
The presidency's technical, operational, and maintenance agency and facilities management department are responsible for the operation and upkeep of these complex electromechanical systems.
A dedicated team of highly experienced Saudi engineers and technicians works around the clock to meticulously control temperatures, maintain optimal humidity levels, and monitor operational status to ensure peak performance. Technicians also balance air quality across different areas of the Grand Mosque, adjusting based on the number and density of visitors. Their diligent work results directly from the wise leadership's directives to provide every means of comfort for pilgrims to perform their rituals in ease and peace of mind.
