Plum season is drawing increasing numbers of visitors and tourists to mountain farms across Aseer Region as the fruit reaches peak ripeness and production levels rise. Trees laden with golden and colorful fruit create picturesque landscapes that enliven the agricultural terraces and orchards spread across several governorates in the region.
The Saudi Press Agency observed active harvesting and marketing operations by local farmers, alongside notable economic activity in local markets and roadside stalls located along key routes leading to parks and tourist destinations, where fresh plums are displayed as one of the region's most distinctive seasonal national products.
Seasonal fruits in Aseer Region play a pivotal role in supporting agricultural tourism objectives, in line with the region's development strategy, which seeks to capitalize on its comparative advantages and unique environmental diversity to offer an integrated tourism experience that enhances economic returns for local farmers and drives the growth of sustainable tourism.
