King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center Inaugurates a Maternity Clinic at Al-Awda Hospital in Gaza Strip

King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) inaugurated the women's and maternity clinic at Al-Awda Hospital in Gaza Strip, in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). The hospital's restoration and rehabilitation were completed following extensive damage sustained during the humanitarian crisis, which had forced it out of service for an extended period.
The clinic's rehabilitation is part of a project to ensure access to services and promote maternal and newborn health among the affected population in Gaza Strip. The project aims to rehabilitate and support the women's and maternity wards in three major hospitals in Gaza Strip: Friends of the Patient Hospital, Al-Khair Hospital, and Al-Awda Hospital. It also aims to improve the quality of reproductive health services and ensure safe access to healthcare for pregnant and lactating women.
The UNFPA representative in Gaza expressed his gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by KSRelief, for this vital support, which has contributed to the reactivation of a key medical department. He emphasized that this intervention will have a direct impact on improving maternal and newborn health. The women benefiting from the clinic's services expressed their appreciation for this humanitarian intervention, conveying their relief at the resumption of obstetrics and gynecology services at the hospital. They noted that this provides safe healthcare and reduces the risks they faced during the service disruptions of the past period.
This comes as part of the ongoing efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by KSRelief, to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and provide them with essential services amidst the significant challenges facing the health sector in Gaza.
