Culture Ministry Launches Policy to Integrate Cultural Activities into Healthcare Facilities
The Ministry of Culture has launched a new policy to promote culture in health, demonstrating its commitment to fostering collaboration among the culture, social welfare, and healthcare sectors while integrating cultural activities into healthcare facilities to harness the positive effects of arts and culture on patients’ health and well-being.
The implementation of this policy has begun in partnership with Dallah Hospitals Group, with various cultural activities already underway. These include distributing handcrafted products to patients and visitors, as well as displaying National Day-themed murals in several of the group’s hospitals across the Kingdom.
Additionally, Almoosa Health Group hosted an interactive workshop on handicrafts. It featured a performance of the traditional Saudi Ardah dance, highlighting the role of culture in promoting community health and public well-being.
This policy aligns with the Ministry of Culture’s mission to empower artists and non-profit organizations by bringing cultural activities into health facilities. These initiatives enhance the mental and emotional well-being of patients and visitors while expanding access to captivating performances for all.
