Digital Transformation Enhances Pilgrims’ Experience in Madinah Through Smart Platforms and Applications

As each Hajj season approaches, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia renews its commitment to providing an exceptional experience for pilgrims, supported by rapid advancements in digital innovation. In Madinah, the first stop for thousands of pilgrims from around the world, digital transformation has emerged as a key enabler in streamlining procedures and elevating service quality.
Smart technologies and applications now play a vital role in guiding pilgrims, managing crowds, and offering instant information in multiple languages. These innovations reflect the Kingdom’s ongoing digital journey and the dedication of authorities, primarily the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), to leveraging technology in the service of pilgrims, in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.
Among the most notable platforms enhancing the pilgrim experience is the Nusuk platform, which enables users to book appointments to visit the Holy Rawdah in the Prophet’s Mosque. Applications such as Tawakkalna and other health platforms provide real-time access to medical services. Additionally, digital guidance tools offer interactive maps for navigating Madinah’s landmarks and public facilities.
Some platforms have integrated AI to offer real-time responses to pilgrims’ inquiries in their native languages, further simplifying the journey.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah continues to develop and enhance these digital services, reinforcing the Kingdom’s leading role in facilitating religious pilgrimages and achieving the strategic objectives of Vision 2030.
