Prince Mohammed bin Salman Hospital in Aden Hosts Arab Board General Surgery Exam
Prince Mohammed bin Salman Hospital in Aden Governorate hosted the Arab Board examination in general surgery (OSCE) in cooperation with the Yemeni Board of Medical Specialties, affiliated with the Ministry of Public Health and Population in Yemen.
The examination targeted 49 physicians from various Yemeni governorates and was supervised by 17 consultant physicians from inside and outside Yemen. The OSCE helps enhance physicians’ competencies, strengthen adherence to professional standards across the health system, provide opportunities for professional development aligned with the latest medical practices, and support collaboration between hospitals and educational institutions.
Hosting the Arab Board examinations at Prince Mohammed bin Salman Hospital in Aden reflects the hospital’s high level of readiness under the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) and its successful experience in organizing specialized training programs, which positively impacts healthcare service levels and improves the quality of care in Yemen.
The SDRPY has implemented development initiatives that have contributed to raising the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare services in Yemeni governorates, facilitating access, enhancing quality, providing training, and creating job opportunities in the health sector.
The projects and initiatives included building, equipping, rehabilitating, and operating hospitals and medical centers, as well as strengthening the capacity of medical personnel, benefiting more than 4 million people. Support was also extended to 26 medical facilities across nine Yemeni governorates, reflecting the wide-reaching impact of these development projects.
