Diriyah Season 25/26 Launches in Historic Wadi Safar

Under the patronage of Diriyah Governor Prince Fahd bin Saad bin Abdullah bin Turki, the Diriyah Gate Development Authority launched the Diriyah Season 25/26 yesterday evening in Wadi Safar. The launch ceremony was steeped in history, embodying the symbolism of Al-Awja (the bend of Wadi Hanifa, synonymous with Diriyah) and celebrating Wadi Safar's natural beauty and historical significance as a key area of the First Saudi State.
The event featured cultural and artistic performances, including an original piece titled "I am Al-Awja," which narrated the region's history through visual creativity and light technology. Performances by winners of the Rawi Diriyah program and traditional arts like the Ardah and Samri reinforced the deep connection Saudis feel to Diriyah's heritage. The season, held under the slogan "Your Pride, Your Place," is designed to embody Diriyah's identity and historical value, reinforcing its position as a global cultural destination.
The Diriyah Season 25/26 offers a comprehensive cultural and tourism experience with over 10 programs spanning both historical and natural sites. Key programs are distributed across the historic districts: At-Turaif District showcases leadership history through the Hal Al-Qusoor program, which opens historical palaces to the public for the first time; Al-Bujairi District hosts the Diriyah Storytelling Festival, celebrating literature and narrative; Al-Murayih District features Layali Diriyah, a blend of culinary arts and international dining; and Wadi Safar hosts the Sada Al-Wadi program, highlighting traditional Saudi arts.
The season is committed to cultural sustainability and empowering national talents, serving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 by positioning Diriyah as the cradle of the Saudi state and a permanent platform for cultural and tourism activity.
