Kidana Launches Heat Stress Mitigation Project at Jabal Al-Rahmah for Hajj 1446 AH
In preparation for Hajj 1446 AH and to enhance pilgrim safety and comfort, Kidana Development Company, the executive arm of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and the Holy Sites, completed a significant heat stress mitigation project in Jabal Al-Rahmah area.
Spanning 196,000 square meters, the project incorporates design elements focused on ease of movement and pilgrim well-being, enriching the overall Hajj experience.
Key features of the project include 785 square meters of shading canopies and 129 mist fans strategically placed to reduce temperatures and moderate the climate around Jabal Al-Rahmah. The initiative provides a more comfortable environment for pilgrims performing their rituals.
Kidana emphasized that the undertaking reflects its commitment to the highest safety and comfort standards for pilgrims, aligning with the wise leadership's directives to prioritize pilgrim well-being.
The comprehensive heat stress mitigation project in the holy sites aims to lessen the impact of high temperatures on pilgrims' health. It involves shading pedestrian paths, expanding green spaces, establishing rest stops and emergency centers, and employing specialized painting techniques in various locations to improve the environmental conditions, thereby significantly contributing to enhanced comfort and safety during the performance of Hajj rituals.
