
HRH the Crown Prince Chairs Cabinet Session in Riyadh
His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the Cabinet session held in Riyadh today.
The Cabinet congratulated Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on the opening of the second year of the ninth session of the Shura Council and commended the annual royal speech on the occasion, which underscored the strong foundations of the nation, celebrated its developmental achievements, outlined aspirations for the advancement of citizens and national progress, and reaffirmed the Kingdom's dedication to regional security and stability.
HRH the Crown Prince briefed the Cabinet on the outcomes of his participation in the extraordinary session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Arab-Islamic Emergency Summit. He praised both summits for their support of the State of Qatar in responding to the brutal Israeli attack and for their complete rejection of any deviation from international law and norms.
The Cabinet strongly condemned the attacks by the Israeli occupation authority in the region. It emphasized the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's full solidarity with the State of Qatar and its unwavering support for all measures that would ensure Qatar's security and preserve its sovereignty.
Following the session, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary told the Saudi Press Agency that the Cabinet welcomed the United Nations General Assembly's adoption of the New York Declaration, which was issued by the High-Level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, co-chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the French Republic. The Cabinet emphasized that the resolution, supported by 142 countries, reflects a unified global commitment to a peaceful future, which includes the recognition of the Palestinian people's legitimate right to establish their independent state, based on the 1967 borders and with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Cabinet backed the joint statement made by the foreign ministers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States of America on restoring peace and security in Sudan, expressing hope that this initiative would help alleviate the humanitarian crisis faced by the Sudanese people.
The Cabinet reaffirmed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's continued support for the Syrian Arab Republic's economic recovery, including a grant of 1.65 million barrels of crude oil aimed at improving the living conditions of the brotherly Syrian people.
The Cabinet reviewed the Kingdom's participation in the 69th session of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) General Conference and the country's commitment to its national nuclear energy project, a collaborative effort with the IAEA to strengthen human capital, boost national capabilities, support technological progress, and achieve economic and social prosperity, aiming to become a leading example in this field.
The Cabinet affirmed that Riyadh's hosting of the Money20/20 Middle East Conference reflects the Kingdom's dedication to supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, improving market efficiency, expanding partnerships and investments, and contributing to the development of the financial sector as a global hub in this field.
The Cabinet addressed other items on its agenda and issued several decisions, including the following:
First:
Authorizing the chairman of the board of trustees of the King Fahd National Library, or a deputy, to discuss and sign with the Indonesian side a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the library and the National Library of Indonesia.
Second:
Approving a memorandum of understanding between the governments of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Federal Republic of Nigeria on cooperation in combating the trafficking, illicit production and manufacture, and smuggling of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and precursor chemicals.
Third:
Approving a protocol between the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China on inspection and quarantine requirements for dairy products exported from Saudi Arabia to China.
Fourth:
Approving a memorandum of understanding on desertification between the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Gansu Desert Control Research Institute of the People's Republic of China.
Fifth:
Approving a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in export development between the Saudi Export Development Authority and the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation.
Sixth:
Authorizing the minister of education and chairman of the board of directors of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC), or a deputy, to discuss with the Turkish side a draft memorandum of understanding on technical and vocational training between TVTC and the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Türkiye.
