NWC Completes SAR228 Million Sewage System in Al-Qunfudhah
The National Water Company (NWC) has announced the completion of sewage system projects in the governorate of Al-Qunfudhah. These projects included the construction of an environmental treatment plant (STP), sewage networks, and pumping stations. The total cost exceeded SAR228 million. These initiatives are part of the company's environmental services aimed at improving the quality of life and upgrading infrastructure in support of the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
The Al-Qunfudhah treatment plant was designed to operate at a capacity of 7,500 cubic meters per day and is a key component of the system. It contributes to the safe and effective treatment of wastewater, meeting environmental and regulatory requirements while enhancing operational efficiency and protecting public health and the environment.
Additionally, over 100,000 linear meters of main lines and sewage networks have been constructed, and five pumping stations have been established to transmit wastewater to the treatment plant. These stations will serve more than 40,000 people in several districts: Northern Khalidiya, Southern Khalidiya, Old Town, Al-Burj, and the eastern and western areas.
NWC emphasized that implementing environmental services projects in Al-Qunfudhah is part of its efforts to reduce environmental damage and address visual pollution, improve the efficiency of environmental services, and increase coverage in underserved districts.
The company urges its customers in the neighborhoods of North and South Khalidiya, Old Town, Al-Burj, East, and West in Al-Qunfudhah governorate to request sanitation connection services through its official channels, either the electronic branch (ebranch.nwc.com.sa) or the NWC app, emphasizing the importance of completing and submitting all required documents and data to ensure speedy execution of the connection requests.
