Municipalities Minister, UK Ambassador Discuss Urban Development, Smart Cities

Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majed Al-Hogail met Tuesday with British Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Stephen Hitchen on the sidelines of Cityscape Global 2025 in Riyadh.

 The officials explored avenues of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom (UK) on urban development and smart cities.

 The two sides discussed opportunities to advance collaboration in sustainable housing and urban intelligence through the exchange of advanced expertise and the exploration of technological partnerships with leading UK companies.

 They examined ways to strengthen joint investments in housing and infrastructure projects and highlighted potential cooperation in green real-estate financing through British financial institutions.

 The British ambassador expressed his appreciation for the major urban transformation underway in the Kingdom under Saudi Vision 2030, emphasizing that the Saudi experience has become a global model for harmonizing fast-paced development with sustainability.
