ZATCA Thwarts Two Drug Smuggling Attempts at Border Crossings
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) thwarted two drug smuggling attempts at Al-Durrah and Rub' Al-Khali border crossings, seizing a total of 33,548 amphetamine pills and over 21 kilograms of methamphetamine hidden in a vehicle and a truck.
ZATCA spokesperson Hamoud Al-Harbi emphasized the authority's commitment to tightening customs controls on imports and exports across the Kingdom to enhance the security and protection of society. This vigilance aligns with ZATCA's strategy of curbing attempts to smuggle narcotics and other prohibited substances.
Al-Harbi urged the public to assist in combating smuggling to protect society and the national economy. Reports related to smuggling crimes can be submitted confidentially via the dedicated security reporting number (1910), email (@zatca.gov.sa1910), or the international number (009661910). ZATCA provides a financial reward for accurate reports.
