Saudi Water Authority Outlines Beneficiaries’ Rights during Service Suspensions
The Saudi Water Authority (SWA) has clarified the rights of beneficiaries regarding water service suspensions due to non-payment.
The SWA emphasized that beneficiaries have the right to receive prior notification before service suspension, obtain clear documentation explaining the reason for the suspension, and have their service restored within a maximum of 24 hours after payment.
If these rights are not upheld, beneficiaries can file a complaint with the service provider and escalate it to the authority if there is no response.
The authority also noted that, in coordination with the National Water Company, flexible financial solutions are available to help beneficiaries in managing payments and avoiding service suspension. Details are provided through a mechanism published on the SWA’s platforms.
