Countdown Begins for Formula E in Jeddah, News Conference Confirms Full Readiness
The countdown has begun for the upcoming rounds of Season 12 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, set to take place at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit on February 13 and 14.
A news conference held ahead of the event confirmed the Jeddah Corniche Circuit's full technical and operational readiness, making it one of the premier street circuits on the Formula E calendar.
The highly anticipated double-header once again reinforces Saudi Arabia’s position as a leading host of major international motorsport events.
As electric race cars prepare to take to the Red Sea waterfront circuit, Jeddah continues to strengthen its standing as a key destination for electric racing, reflecting the Kingdom’s broader commitment to sustainability, innovation, and clean technologies.
Saudi Automobile & Motorcycle Federation (SAMF) and Saudi Motorsport Company (SMC) chairman Prince Khalid bin Sultan Al Abdullah Al Faisal said the Kingdom’s major transformations have been driven by the vision and support of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He added that this guidance has reshaped multiple sectors, including sports.
Prince Khalid bin Sultan emphasized that hosting the upcoming Formula E rounds is a strategic priority beyond sport, given their direct link to sustainability and renewable energy.
He noted that Formula E was the first international motorsport event hosted by the Kingdom, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s early commitment to supporting clean racing and future technologies.
The news conference spotlighted the championship’s growing role as a platform that integrates sport, technology, and sustainability amid rising global interest in electric racing and its position as the future of motorsport.
Organizers also reviewed logistical and operational preparations for the event to enhance the experience for teams and fans alike.
