Madinah’s Walking Trails Gain Popularity in Ramadan
Walking trails in Madinah Region have become increasingly popular among diverse segments of society during Ramadan, supported by the region’s mild weather this year.
Ramadan provides an ideal opportunity to refine one’s lifestyle, combining mindful nutrition with regular physical activity. Choosing the right type and timing of exercise is key to maintaining well-being and reaping its full benefits.
According to Dr. Suha Abduljawad, a nutrition consultant at Taibah University, moderation is key when exercising during fasting. She warned that overly intense workouts can lead to sudden drops in blood pressure, dizziness, and severe fatigue.
She indicated that the optimal time for strenuous exercise during Ramadan is roughly two hours after Iftar, while emphasizing the importance of adequate hydration between Iftar and Suhoor to replenish fluids lost during fasting.
