Electronic Salary Transfers for Domestic Workers Become Fully Mandatory as of January 1, 2026
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has announced that the fifth and final phase of the mandate requiring electronic wage transfers for domestic workers will take effect on January 01, 2026. This requirement applies to all employers without exception.
The ministry highlighted that this initiative represents a significant change in the management of the contractual relationship between employers and domestic workers. By documenting wage payments through electronic transfers via approved banks and digital wallets, the principle of transparency will be enhanced.
Additionally, the ministry stated that this measure is part of its ongoing efforts to regulate the labor market and improve digital services for beneficiaries. This initiative aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to increase market efficiency, enhance the work environment, and promote fairness and stability in contractual relationships.
