KSrelief, UK Foreign Office Sign Joint Statement Supporting Yemen and Bangladesh
King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) in collaboration with the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, signed a joint statement to provide $17.8 million in humanitarian and relief assistance to the Republic of Yemen and the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The signing took place during the third Strategic Dialogue on International Development and Humanitarian Assistance between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom, held in London.
The statement was signed by Advisor at the Royal Court and KSrelief Supervisor General Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, and Minister of State for International Development and Africa at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Baroness Jennifer Chapman.
According to the statement, both sides will contribute $10 million, shared equally, to support a joint food security project in Yemen, in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP). Additionally, both sides will provide $5 million, also shared equally, to support a joint water and sanitation project for Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration.
Furthermore, they will jointly provide $2.8 million, shared equally, to support joint food security projects for Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, working with the WFP and the Integrated Social Development Effort Bangladesh.
This initiative is part of the broader relief and humanitarian efforts provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through KSrelief, aimed at assisting those in need and helping refugees around the world.
