Najran Prepares for Coffee Harvest as Cultivation Expands

Coffee farmers in Najran Region and its governorates are preparing for the harvest season, coinciding with International Coffee Day and highlighting the cultural significance of Saudi coffee and its rich agricultural heritage.

The season comes amid significant growth in local coffee cultivation. Official statistics show that Najran is emerging as a key Saudi coffee-producing region, with approximately 100,000 coffee trees, including more than 30,000 fruit-bearing trees that produce over 15 tons of pure coffee.

Director General of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture branch in Najran Murih Al-Shahrani said the branch is implementing development initiatives to support farmers with high-quality seedlings, organic fertilizers suited to Najran’s soil, water-saving irrigation systems to improve production efficiency, and training workshops on global best practices in coffee cultivation, harvesting, and drying.
