CST Announces the Winners of the Tech Innovation Challenge 2024
The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) announced the Tech Innovation Challenge 2024 winners and crowned the winning team's Hams. AI, Sammu, VOIR, Challenge The Space, Ebda, Sanad AI, Farm Care, Chromaero and Moraqeb.
According to a press release issued by the CST today, the challenge was launched in collaboration with the National Technology Development Program (NTDP), Huawei and the Artificial Intelligence Governance Association. This initiative aims to support innovation and the development of tech products, encourage entrepreneurs, and invest in national capabilities, which will contribute to GDP by increasing the number of local companies specializing in emerging technologies.
The release added that the CST highlighted that this edition had witnessed the participation of over 900 participants, representing 290 teams. The challenge focused mainly on AI, IoT, and robots within the communications, Space, and technology tracks.
The winners were awarded by the Deputy Governor for the Technology Sector at CST, Raed Alfayez, and the CEO of the National Technology Development Program, Ibrahim Neyaz, in the presence of CST Governor Mohammed Altamimi, Vice Minister at the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology Eng. Haitham AlOhali, and a number of senior officials.
It is worth noting that the Tech Innovation Challenge builds on the previous IoT Challenge, which held three editions and witnessed participation from more than 3,000 individuals, resulting in over 1,500 submitted ideas that presented innovative solutions to various challenges in Saudi markets in many fields.
