IMCTC Launches Kenya Training Program on Rehabilitation of Extremist Individuals

The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) launched the “Rehabilitation and Social Reintegration for Individuals with Extremist Ideologies and Terrorist Behaviors” training program, known as “Integration,” in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.

The initiative opening was attended by Kenyan Deputy Director of Military Intelligence Brigadier Joel Kirimi, IMCTC Ideology Department Head Dr. Mansour Al-Qarni, and a group of leading specialists and professionals from relevant institutions.

The “Integration” program comes as part of the coalition’s efforts to support member states in addressing issues related to extremism and strengthening intellectual and community-based approaches aimed at rehabilitating individuals influenced by extremist thought and reintegrating them positively into society. These initiatives seek to ensure long-term security and stability.

The program seeks to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary for workers in rehabilitation and reintegration fields and raise awareness of the importance of such programs in addressing extremism and radicalism.

It will also clarify the scientific foundations and professional standards for designing and implementing rehabilitation and reintegration programs as well as ways to address the challenges associated with them.
