KSrelief Implements Project to Address Water Shortage in Yemen’s Taiz

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) drilled an artesian well to provide a water source in Al-Jadeed village in Taiz governorate, addressing the significant challenges faced by residents due to the lack of potable water.

The project aims to provide essential water for drinking and household use.

From May 29 to August 27, all project activities by KSrelief were carried out according to the established timeline.

Key activities included drilling a 15-meter artesian well, installing a solar-powered submersible pump, establishing two water distribution points with a capacity of 2,000 liters, and setting up two water distribution networks.

Additionally, the community committee was trained on the maintenance and operation of the project to ensure its sustainability.

As a result of these efforts, the project benefited 450 households, 60% of whom reported a significant increase in water availability in the areas where the project was implemented. The project also enhanced the local community's capacity to maintain and operate the water system, thereby promoting the sustainability of this vital infrastructure.

The efforts are part of a series of humanitarian and relief projects related to water and environmental sanitation implemented by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by KSrelief, to provide potable water in Yemen.
