NCM CEO Highlights Vision 2030's Role in Advancing Global Environmental Protection Efforts

The CEO of the National Center for Meteorology (NCM), Dr. Ayman bin Salem Ghulam, emphasized the Kingdom's pivotal role in strengthening global efforts to protect the environment and combat desertification and drought through Vision 2030 and its transformative initiatives, Saudi Green and Middle East Green.
 Dr. Ghulam's remarks were made during the 16th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP16) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), hosted in Riyadh.
 The event, inaugurated in the presence of Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture Abdulrahman Alfadley and leaders of the Kingdom's environmental ecosystem, brought together global experts and high-level speakers to address pressing environmental challenges.
 The opening session of Resilience Day centred on strategies to accelerate global efforts in combating desertification, ecosystem degradation, drought, and water scarcity. Discussions showcased innovative solutions and practical experiences aimed at enhancing global resilience against these challenges.
 In his speech, Dr. Ghulam stressed the importance of adopting sustainable policies and leveraging modern technologies to achieve a sustainable environmental future. He highlighted Resilience Day as a key platform for elevating international ambitions and fostering cooperation to address issues such as biodiversity protection, land degradation, and the achievement of sustainable development goals.
 The Kingdom's leadership in environmental initiatives underscores its commitment to uniting global efforts to build a sustainable and resilient future.
