Prince Mohammed bin Salman Project Revitalizes 300-Year-Old Al-Jubail Mosque in Taif
As part of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Project for the Development of Historical Mosques, the 300-year-old Al-Jubail Mosque in Taif has been rehabilitated to preserve its authentic Sarawat architecture.
The project replaced modern cement with natural granite and durable juniper wood, maintaining the mosque’s 310-square-meter footprint and 45-worshipper capacity while honoring the traditional mountainous style of southern Taif.
By using local stone and specialized Saudi heritage experts, the initiative ensures the mosque remains a living testament to the region’s religious and social history, aligning with Vision 2030 goals to safeguard the Kingdom’s architectural identity for future generations.
